When cleaning aluminum pans never use hot cleaning media – this can cause warpage.
When installing use weather strip to glue gasket to the block using GE silicone to seal the gasket to the pan and on front and rear rubber seals.
Make certain that rear pan seal has the proper thickness in order to cause a good seal between the rear main cap and the rear oil pan lip. Some blocks have been found to have a .050″ deeper seal receiver groove. Rear pan seals can be made from cut down front pan seals.
Never use caustic cleaning solutions on aluminum pans.
Never remove the pan from the engine when it is hot, as warpage can occur.
